The updates to the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL), revised as of February 1, 2025, have been applied to IMDS on March 14, 2025.



GADSL Overview

  • Global Automotive Declarable Substance List

  • Created through information exchange by GASG (Global Automotive Stakeholder Group)

  • Consolidates major global regulations into a single list to help minimize supply chain requirements for individual companies

  • Includes information on regulations and general applications of substances

  • Updated and published annually in the first half of the year (Sometimes more than twice a year)

  • GADSL references (Click "Reference List" at the bottom right)

Key Changes

  • Reclassification of existing GADSL substances: 51 cases

    • D/P → P (10 cases)

    • P → D/P (2 cases)

    • D → D/P (34 cases)

    • D/P → D (2 cases)

    • D/P/SVHC → D (3 cases)

  • Unflagged & status change to Hidden: 1 case (CAS: 1327-52-2)

  • Newly Added to IMDS & GADSL: 78 cases & all added as “D”

  • Existing substances in IMDS with newly assigned GADSL classifications
